Dreamworks guarantees all items are sold as represented. Since 1997 our goal has been to offer quality refinished furniture and fine collectibles and to do this with integrity. A NOTE ON FINISH:The photographs do not do our pieces justice. We refinish with polyurethane in a matte finish exclusively. The application of a matte finish allows the patina in the wood to show through. The sheen seen in the photographs is from the camera flash. Polyurethane is superior to varnish or lacquer (which sit on the surface of the piece) in that it actually penetrates into the wood approximately an 1/8” to ¼" completely sealing it. Furniture with a polyurethane finish is easily cleaned with a damp rag which also keeps the piece from darkening over time. If you are interested in seeing the range of pieces we have offered and examples of our refinishing work, please check out our list of recently sold pieces. To

The copper canister sits on top of a typical Victorian period column made of brass. At the top of the column there is a scroll pattern that blends nicely into the reeded column. At the very bottom of the base this magnificent lamp is finished with brass beginning with an elegant shell pattern and finished of with a flower-like scroll pattern. This attractive banquet lamp is another fine example of the high-quality produced by the well-known Bradley and Hubbard. It also captures the essence of the Victorian period. It has been electrified but in doing so nothing has been done to affect the lamp's original state. The electric part simply has to be removed, the original burner put back in and the lamp would again function with kerosene. The lamp is all original accept for the chimney, which is a new Aladdin. The lamp came from the Lewis Andrews collection. The brass has been restored to show the wonderful detail on the lamp. (circa 1900) $275 Unsigned, this attractive “Hobnail-Style” brass table lamp captures the beginning of the “Arts & Crafts” era. Typical of the “Turn-of-the-Century” as the Victorian “elegance” began to fade into a more Unitarian style, often you will find examples with Victorian accents incorporated in suggesting a subtle transition from one era to another. This attractive lamp is a fine example of this “transition-period” as the base has a simple textured “hammered-like” background accented by the “Hobnail” design. However, the handles are a simplistic yet Victorian styled scroll and the “footing” of the base is again Victorian-styled cut out scroll. The shade is old but we have no idea if it is original to the lamp. In our professional opinion the shade is not original. It’s design and along with the painted pinecones suggest that it is more likely a shade from the 30’s or 40’s. We can, however, guarantee the rest of the lamp is all original. The lamp has been electrified but in doing so has in no way affected the original state. No holes or alterations have been made. The electrical can be removed and replaced with the original burner and the lamp again can produce light with the use of oil. |
